Though I’ve only ever played in punk and metal bands, my musical tastes cover all genres. I always look for inspiration and ideas from other drummers, even if I don’t care for the band or the song. My style is very original because of this. I like to try beats and/or fills that most people wouldn’t think to use in a given style of music.

What sets you apart from other drummers?

I began playing guitar and piano when I was 10, though I was banging on pots and pans at birth. I tend to listen more to the melody in songs because I still play guitar, writing songs I’d like to play drums to. This allows me to be a more “musical” drummer, playing for the song and not necessarily just for chops.
