Aaron Seel

For the 2007-2008 school year, Aaron Seel will be in his ninth year as assistant band director for Arkadelphia High School in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Aaron graduated from Jonesboro High School as section leader of the award winning JHS Drumline. As a freshman in college, Aaron began writing music for the Arkansas State University Drumline, and shortly after became the section leader for that group. During his tenure at ASU, Aaron also marched with the Colt’s Drum and Bugle Corps in 1990. While at ASU, Aaron studied with Jared Spears and Sherri Dees, and also studied privately with Mike McCray and Bart Dixon.
After graduating with a Bachelors of Music Education degree in 1994, Aaron went on to be the percussion caption head and arranger for the Delta Brigade Drum and Bugle Corps. That year the Corps won the 1994 DCI’s “Corps of the Year” award. This award given yearly to the most improved drum corps of the season.
Aaron’s orchestral background comes from being a member of the Northeast Arkansas Symphony and timpanist for the Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra. From 2002-2004 Aaron taught percussion ensemble and applied lessons at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. In 2004, Aaron completed his Masters Degree from Henderson State University. He has been a guest artist with the Ouachita Baptist University Wind Ensemble as well as the OBU Percussion Ensemble.
Aaron is an Educational Endorser of Pro-Mark sticks and mallets. He remains an active clinician, performer and adjudicator in the Mid-South area.
