But it now

A Chicago native, Keith Harris’s career continues to gain momentum, with his stellar reputation continuing to establish him as a much sought-after artist throughout the international music industry. A writer, musician and producer, Harris is best known for his drumming chops that round out the sound of the multi-platinum selling, Grammy award winning band, The Black Eyed Peas. In addition to his work with The Black Eyed Peas, Harris has worked with some of North America’s most talented recording artists including Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Jully Black, Earth Wind and Fire and John Legend. Harris was first introduced to the drums through his local church band. Playing in the high-energy gospel performances, and adjusting to the quick turn over of song lists prepared him for his future musical career. In 1998 Harris graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in music production and engineering. While at Berklee, Harris met Bad Boy producer Richard “Younglord” Frierson. Frierson instantly recognized his musical gifts and took this young talent under his wing. In 2003 Harris began his career as the drummer for the band Black Eyed Peas and later, Black Eyed Peas lead singer Fergie on her debut album as a solo artist. He continues to work and tour the world with the Black Eyed Peas while building his growing credits as a songwriter and producer for many up coming artists.

“I’ve always been interested in music. As a young child, I would run to the TV during the commercials to watch them, and listen to the music. Once the regular program continued, I left the TV. Music is what I was called to do. I didn’t choose music, music chose me”. Keith Harris.
